The Keytronics keyboard on which the Metadot "Das Keyboard" is based is an excellent choice for under $20. - get the PS/2 model. And some mobos have a jumper as well as a BIOS setting to enable power-up from PS/2 keyboard. The jumper physically connects the +5V standby power to the PS/2 jack. So no worky w/o the jumper..bh.
1. @Tetsujin I don't know, I've tested many of these solutions beforehand, but nothing worked. However, I have almost the same motherboard the same (Windows 10) OS and the same CPU on which PC PS/2 keyboard works perfectly. The only difference between the motherboards is the other doesn't have 2in1 but 2 separate PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors.
